Marina Squerciati is also known as Marina Teresa Squerciati, is an American actress. She is known for her recurring appearance in Chicago P.D. playing the role of Kim Burgess. She was also seen in the movie Nutcracker, which was directed by Emilie Ardolino.
Before she could become a full-fledged Actress she started with theatre.
Her first win in the world of theatre was the Agnes Moorhead Award for her role as Judy Holiday in the Broadway play Just in Time: The Judy Holiday Story at the Lucille Lortel Theatre. Marina made her Broadway Debut in the adaptation of Ernst Lubitsch’s To Be or Not to Be, which was directed by the Tony Award Winner named Casey Nicholaw. Apart from Bradway she also starred in Manipulation, Beauty of the Father, and others. She is said to have created the role of “Kerri Taylor” in the Cappella musical comedy Perfect Harmony also being a member of The Essentials.
In the film industry, in 1993, she appeared in The Nutcracker. In 2009, she made her feature debut in It’s Complicated. She appeared in the movies Alter Egos and Frances Ha. she starred in the Indie film Sparkswhich was based on the comic SPARKS by William Katt.
In 2010 and 2011, she made another tv debut was on Law and Order: Special Victims Unit, The Good Wife, Damages, and Blue Bloods. She gained major attention in the fall of 2011 in the 8th episode arc on the fifth season of Gossip Girl. She made a guest appearance on the FX series The American as a Soviet Spy in 2013.
It was announced in August 2013, that Marina would play the role of Officer Kim Burgess in the Chicago Fire spin-off Chicago P.D. This show was premiered on January 8th, 2014. The seventeenth episode of the same show was premiered on September 25, 2019, and on February 27, 2020, after which NCB announced that the show was being renewed for an 8th, 9th, and 10th season.
In 2013, she played an additional voice role for the movie Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2. One of her uncredited movies of 2014 was the movie A Walk Among the Tombstones, in which she played the role of a hostess. In the year 2017, she wrote the story for the TV series Special Skills, where she played the main character, named after her real name. This series which was written and played by her had five episodes.
According to reliable sources, Marian graduated from the University of Northwestern in the early 2000s. She passed out with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Theatre in 2003. She was raised in New York City but soon relocated to Chicago to pursue her dreams as an actor.
