Bollywood movies are known for their glitz and glamour, numerous songs, and unique dance routines. Over the years, filmmakers have used a myriad of techniques to entertain audiences. They’ve shot films in exotic locations and used expensive, iconic cars. If you’re a car enthusiast, buckle up because this post covers popular cars used on the silver screen.
1. Audi RB V10
War, which was released in 2019, was the biggest Bollywood blockbuster that year. Tiger Shroff and Hrithik Roshan starred in thrilling action scenes, delighting their fans to no end. In one of the scenes, they are seen in a car chase driving Audi R8 supercars.
The high-performance R8 sports car attests to the fact that elegance and extreme power don’t have to be mutually exclusive. It sells for about Rs. 2.72 crore and features a 5.2-litre V10 engine with 533 horsepower. Audi’s Quattro all-wheel-drive system allowed the two stars to drive the supercars effortlessly in the scene which was filmed on the Arctic circle.
2. Bugatti Veyron
Race 3, which was released in 2018, marked Salman Khan’s entry into the popular franchise. And like the previous films, it didn’t disappoint when it came to supercars. But in our opinion, the best of them all was the Bugatti Veyron.
The Bugatti Veyron is perhaps one of the greatest supercars ever built. It features a 8.0-liter turbo-quad W-16 engine and can hit top speeds of 200-mph-plus. Veyron 16.4 is for those with plenty of money and a desire to go super fast.
The car was sold between 2005 and 2011 and was the fastest production car in the world. It is considered a modern classic. Its 8.0-litre W16 engine, which produces an impressive 1,001 horsepower, had no competitor when it was released. This was due to Bugatti’s exceptional engineering.
3. Lamborghini Diablo
When Hrithik Roshan appeared in Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham, we didn’t know it would be one of the greatest films of our time. In one scene, the star shows up in a bright red Lamborghini Diablo.
The Lamborghini Diablo, a mid-engine, high-performance sports car, was built by Lamborghini between 1990 and 2001. It was the company’s first creation that was capable of hitting over 320 kilometres per hour. Its name, Diablo, actually means “devil” in Spanish.
4. Mercedes Benz 300 SL Convertible
Dil Chahta Hai is a movie about 3 close friends who get separated after college because of their different approaches towards relationships. One goes to Australia, another devotes himself to art, while another starts wooing a girl. In the movie, the 3 friends decide to go to Mumbai in the vehicle.
The 300 SL is powered by a 3-litre 6-cylinder engine that generates 228 bhp. SL stands for “super-light,” indicating its racing-bred tubular frame construction. Back in 1999, the car was voted the sports car of the century.
These cars are found in many showroom autos around the world. And thanks to virtual showrooms, you can see how they look and even sit inside one from the comfort of your home.
