Sunidhi Chauhan is an Indian playback singer. She was born on 14 August 1983 in Delhi, India. She began singing at the age of 4. She made her debut when she was just 12 years old with the movie Shastra (1996). She won the first singing reality show titled Meri Awaz Suno and became famous for the “Ruki Ruki Si Zindagi” from Mast (1999). She won Filmfare RD Burman Award for New Music Talent and was nominated for the Best Female Playback Singer for this song.
Her second breakthrough was released in 2000, with the song “Mehboob Mere” from Fiza, for which she received another Filmfare nomination. In 2010, she received her second Filmfare award with the item song “Sheila Ki Jawani” (2010) and was nominated for the international-styled carnival song “Udi” from Guzaarish (2010).
In 2010 she made her International debut with an alternate version of the song “Heartbeat” by Enrique Iglesias. Other than songs she also appeared as a judge in various singing reality shows. she has also been involved in various charities and social causes. She has appeared four times in Forbes’ Celebrity 100 of India (2012–2015).
She was born and brought up in New Delhi, India. Sunidhi did her schooling from Greenway Modern School, New Delhi. She is 12th pass. She belongs to a Hindu family. Her father’s name is Dushyant Kumar Chauhan and her mother’s name is not known. She also has a sister Suneha Chauhan. Sunidhi Chauhan is married twice. In 2002, she married Bobby Khan but the couple got divorced in the year 2003.
On 24 April 2012, she married Hitesh Sonik. Hitesh is a music composer. The couple also has a son Tegh Sonik. Tegh is born on 1 January 2018. She is 5 feet 3 inches tall.
