Cousins was born on August 19, 1988, and plays American football for the Minnesota Vikings in the National Football League (NFL). He was picked in the fourth round of the 2012 NFL Draft by the Washington Redskins after playing college football at Michigan State, where he was the Spartans’ starting quarterback from 2009 to 2011.

Cousins is the son of Don and Maryann Cousins, senior pastors at Discovery Church in Orlando, Florida. He is the youngest of three siblings. The NFC Offensive Player of the Week twice selected him as the NFL’s top completion percentage leader.
During his career with the Washington Redskins, Cousins threw the 65th perfect game in NFL history, as well as setting a team record with 33 completions in a game and 379 completions in a season. The NFC Offensive Player of the Month award was presented to him in December 2015 after he set the Redskins season yardage record of 4,166. Cousins signed a fully guaranteed three-year contract for $84 million with the Minnesota Vikings on March 15, 2018.
