Dave Sidhu was born on 2 November 1986. He is an Indian-born Australian casting director, film director, and actor who works in Punjabi and Hindi films. Sidhu started his career as a casting director with Pareshaan Parinda after which he did Kuriyan Jawan Baapu Preshaan. Along with directing and producing several music videos. Sidhu ventured into film direction in 2020 with The Oneness (a short documentary film on Indo-Australian people).

He belongs to a Sikh family. Dave Sidhu was born Jatinder Singh and his wife Surjeet Kaur at Barnala, Punjab. He completed a diploma in filmmaking from the Australian Film Institute (AFI). Dave is married to Sandeep Kaur. The couple also has a daughter Surmandeep.
